World Team Chemistry Olympiad (WTCO) 2026

Background

The World Team Chemistry Olympiad (WTCO) is an international team-based chemistry competition that brings together outstanding students from around the world to solve challenging chemical problems through collaboration, critical thinking, and scientific reasoning. Unlike traditional individual olympiads, WTCO emphasizes teamwork as an essential skill for modern scientific research.

Participants work together to analyze chemical concepts, interpret experimental data, and develop solutions to real-world challenges in areas such as physical chemistry, organic chemistry, analytical chemistry, materials science, and environmental chemistry. The competition encourages effective communication, collaborative problem-solving, and interdisciplinary thinking in an international environment.

Organized by the Science Association of Indonesia (SAID), WTCO aims to foster scientific excellence while preparing students to become future researchers, chemical engineers, pharmaceutical scientists, and global innovators capable of addressing complex chemical challenges through teamwork.

Vision

To become the world's leading team-based chemistry olympiad that promotes scientific excellence, collaboration, innovation, and global friendship among young scientists.
