Background
The World Team Biology Olympiad (WTBO) is an international team-based biology competition that brings together outstanding students from around the world to solve challenging biological problems through collaboration, critical thinking, and scientific reasoning. Unlike traditional individual olympiads, WTBO emphasizes teamwork as an essential skill for modern scientific research.
Participants work together to analyze biological concepts, interpret scientific data, and develop solutions to real-world challenges in areas such as molecular biology, genetics, ecology, physiology, evolution, and biotechnology. The competition encourages effective communication, collaborative problem-solving, and interdisciplinary thinking in an international environment.
Organized by the Science Association of Indonesia (SAID), WTBO aims to foster scientific excellence while preparing students to become future researchers, healthcare professionals, environmental scientists, and global innovators capable of addressing complex biological challenges through teamwork.
